'The Everlearner' approach to teaching Welsh

Image
In order to target the kinesthetic and visual learners in the class, I used elements from 'The Everlearner' approach. The images show a 'play area', allowing students to make Welsh words with the letters provided, while also giving them an option to use an online audio and visual tool to support their learning. Students should have options when it comes to the resources they use in a lesson. All students have their preferred way of learning and it's vital that teachers know which way that is and provide the most appropriate teaching resource.

'The EverLearner' approach to teaching History

Child-centred teaching In today's humanities lesson I introduced an exciting teaching approach called 'The EverLearner'. The class was divided into four sections...quiet study area, teacher lead area, play area and investigation corner. This image shows students working together in the investigation area trying to solve a crime. Students in the class area choosing an area of the classroom that suits their learning most appropriately. Child centred learning allowing students to progress at a pace and in a way suited to their needs.

Technology in Physical Education

I have used technology in my physical education lessons on a number of occasions but none have been as effective as using the 'video delay' app during my year 6 high jump lesson. The link below show students performing, before self assessing their performances using the video delay technology. Students were able to recognise their strengths and technical areas that may need improved. Students thoroughly enjoyed using this app. It was fun and students made excellent progress! https://youtu.be/-9nlf99j69M

Student feedback on the 'Sports Education Model'

'Sport Education Model' During today's football lesson I filmed two year 6 students who were involved in the Sport Education Model. They have been doing football in the lesson, using this model to help them develop a wide range of skills. Here they are talking about how they feel this model helps with their development.

Social Media Inset Day

Social Media Training with Simon Noakes A very interesting talk about the benefits of using social media in lessons as a way to support and enhance the learning of students. There are so many great ways to use social media within your department. Simon Noakes delivered this inset and made me aware of the different ways to use social media platforms within PE. Although we already feel that we use social media effectively in PE, this inset made me aware of the many other ways to get the most out of it too. Facebook Live is certainly an area that I will look to embed in my teaching and allow parents to see the learning of their children. Twitter was also another key area for discussion. We look at the most effective ways of using hashtags so all departments within school are updated on key information relevant to their year group.

Sport Education Model - Football

Sport Education Model - Effectiveness in Football  A booklet I made that follows the 'Sport Education Model'. This page outlines what each will earn points for e.g. correct kit, quality of the teams warm up. The coach of each team will deliver the practice sessions and and arrange their team. The scoring system covers a number of areas as follows: Match win = 20 points, Draw = 15 points, Loss = 10 points Good sportspersonship = 10 points Attitude in practice session = 10 points Performance in practice session = 10 points  This page outlines the roles of different people in the team. Captain: they will earn their team points for how encouraging they are to their peers during the warm-up, practice sessions and matches. Players: all of the students take on the role of a player. While students a...
